Your photos decide your calendar
Photos are the first thing guests judge – before they read a word of your description. Holidu arranges a photoshoot with a local professional, included in your onboarding.
Before a guest reads a single word about your holiday home, they have already looked at your photos. On a screen full of options, the picture is the first impression – and often the only one you get.
Good photos earn the click. They give people the confidence to book a place they have never seen. Weak ones send them to the next listing, however lovely your home is in real life.
Your main photo does the work
Your main photo does the hard work. It is what shows up in search, what fills the thumbnail grid, what a guest judges in a second or two. A bright, well-framed shot pulls them in. A dark or cluttered one gets scrolled past.
What a professional photographer adds
A professional does not only take a sharper photo. They know how to use the light, choose the angle, and stage a room so it feels like somewhere you would want to wake up. They show your home truthfully, too – so guests arrive to exactly what they expected, and leave the kind of review that brings the next booking.
A photographer who knows your market
Holidu works with local photographers who know what guests in your region are looking for – the sea view worth leading with, the cosy corner that says stay a while. That is the part software alone cannot give you: a real person who understands your market, behind the camera.
Two ways to a great gallery
You can build your gallery yourself, or let us arrange a shoot. Most hosts end up doing a bit of both.
How a Holidu shoot works
Four steps, and only the third one asks anything of you.
- Arrange it with your local Holidu team, or set it up when you join – they'll check that your home qualifies.
- A local photographer gets in touch to confirm a date that works for you, and sends simple tips to get your home ready.
- Prepare your home – clean, tidy and bright makes all the difference. Then the photographer handles the rest, every room and the outside.
- Your gallery goes live with the new photos on your listing, across all your channels. Usually within a few weeks.
You manage your own gallery
Whether the photos are yours or ours, your gallery is always yours to manage. Add new shots, drag them into the order you want, and set the cover image guests see first.
Where it's available
Free professional photography is available across Holidu's focus regions. If you are not sure whether your area is covered, your local team can tell you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is professional photography really free?
Yes. For eligible holiday homes in Holidu's focus regions, the shoot is free – there's nothing to pay for the photographer or the photos.
Who takes the photos?
A local photographer who knows your area and what guests in your region look for.
Can I still use my own photos?
Absolutely. You can add, reorder and manage your gallery any time from your account – even if you also have professional photos.
What should I do to prepare?
Clean, tidy, and open the space up for light. Your photographer sends simple tips before the shoot.
Who owns the professional photos?
The professional photos stay with Holidu, and we keep a backup so nothing gets lost if one is deleted by mistake.
What if my photos are already good?
Send them to us first – we can check them, so you might not need a new shoot at all.
