Payout calculation basics

Your payout is based on the nightly rate you set in your Holidu Host account. However, certain deductions and adjustments may apply.

Key components of your payout

• Base nightly rate: The price you've set for your property forms the foundation of your payout calculation.
• Distribution channel commission: When your property is advertised on other booking platforms, they charge a commission that is added on top of your set price and won't reduce your payout.
• Discounts: Any discounts you've set up (such as 10% off for stays of 7 nights or more) are deducted from your base price before calculating the payout.
• Holidu commission: Holidu applies a commission (typically 6%) to your base price, which is deducted from your payout.
• VAT: If applicable in your location, VAT is also deducted from your earnings.

Example calculation

Here's how your final payout is determined with a practical example:

• Nightly rate (set by you): €350
• Stay duration: 2 nights
• Discount applied: 10% = €315 per night
• Total earnings before deductions: €315 × 2 = €630
• Holidu commission (6%): −€35.91
• VAT (19%): −€33.99
• Final payout: €560.10

Why was my payout lower than expected?

Holidu uses a balance concept to streamline the payout process. If we have already paid a sum and there are changes to the booking or free cancellations, we subtract the adjustment from your next payout instead of requesting a deposit. This approach avoids unnecessary back-and-forth transactions.
